MIS 769: Big Data Analytics for Business
Graduate students in MIS or Data Analytics who want hands-on experience with large-scale data, text, and language-model workflows.
Information Systems · Lee Business School · Fall 2026
Five courses, one thread: learn by building, understand the decision, and use AI responsibly. IS 335 introduces business analytics to undergraduates. MIS 769 and MIS 752 take graduate students into big data, language models, and AI in healthcare. DA 790 is the capstone where MS Data Analytics students work one real problem end to end.
IS 335 runs as two sections this term: in person (1001) and online (1004). Same outcomes, different format.

Graduate course · Online, asynchronous
Graduate students in MIS or Data Analytics who want hands-on experience with large-scale data, text, and language-model workflows.
Graduate special topics · Online, asynchronous
Graduate students headed for analytics, product, or operations roles in healthcare, and anyone who needs to evaluate AI in a regulated setting.
Undergraduate · In person, section 1001
Business undergraduates. Most students are not planning to become data scientists; the goal is to read a spreadsheet, a dashboard, or a model output and ask the right question.
Undergraduate · Online, asynchronous, section 1004
Business undergraduates who need a structured, self-paced path. Weekly modules run Monday through Sunday; the course is front-loaded, so the first six weeks set up everything after.
Graduate capstone · MS Data Analytics · By arrangement with the advisor
MS Data Analytics students in their final semester who want a portfolio project they can defend line by line in an interview.
If we wait for the moment when everything, absolutely everything, is ready, we shall never begin.
